Georgetown, Guyana — The Caribbean Development Bank named Guyana one of the fastest growing economies in the region last year. That very important story can be found buried on page 9 of Stabroek News. Instead the once respected publication promotes Jagdeo’s lies and propaganda on the front page of the newspaper. Does Bharrat Jagdeo really have standing to feign outrage at any so called ‘illegal’ activity? David DeCaires would be ashamed.

CDB President, Dr Warren Smith stated that, “growth in Guyana which was recorded at 3.4%, was mainly due to increased construction activity, in advance of the first commercial production of oil in 2020… Despite projections of deceleration in global economic activity, the 2019 economic outlook for our borrowing member countries is positive.”

Of course, this good news reflects positively on the coalition government, ergo, Stabroek News opts to bury it in black and white on page 9. Citizens of Guyana must be aware of bias when absorbing any information from Stabroek News. It is clear that the editorial staff has chosen a political side.
