PPPC leaders, supporters and even some misguided members of the international community are calling for sanctions against Guyana should the elections not be called in their favour. The proponents of sanctions decry the process, saying that it was antidemocratic and lacked transparency, notwithstanding the fact that GECOM accommodated the court decisions every step of the way and despite the fact that the conspiracy of PPPC’s fraudulent SOP plan has been uncovered.
Clearly, the sanction approach is not a well thought out strategy as it is the local business community who will feel the most pain of sanctions. The conspiracy in progress to give the PPPC an illegal victory will not work because coalition supporters will never again live under a ruthless, racist, PPPC regime led by the ruthless, egomaniacal, madman Bharrat Jagdeo.
The international community’s bias has been exposed. They must explain why they never threatened sanctions when;
- 400 Guyanese youth were murdered extrajudicially
- When Minister Sash Sawh was murdered
- When Mark Benschop was imprisoned
- When Waddell and Crum Ewing were murdered
- When drug barons ruled the roost, and money laundering and drug murders were a daily occurrence
- When for 23 years, there was no local government elections
- When the PPPC encouraged police departments to victimise young Africans
The people of Guyana will not accede to threatening demands. There will be an indefinite and massive economic boycott across Guyana, the likes of which have never been seen before, should sanctions be targeted at Guyana. #NoGoingBack
