The disrespect and abuse meted out to Madam Chair reflects the struggles of life as a woman leader in Guyana. Truth be told, all former chairs (men) of GECOM have dealt with this same political folly every 5 years. Many have been proven complicit in breaking laws and outright endorsing illegality. Yet it is this Chair who has been targeted in a vile way with vulgar and vile slurs and many of our leaders condone this behavior.
I have also read where some allude to her gender and indicate that she is not being ‘strong’ enough. Abject foolishness! The Chair will act according to the law and that is all we should ask of her. I caution those women who join the fray, this country is not kind to women. You denigrate this woman who is following the law, to your own peril.
Can you imagine under a PPPC government, attacks launched on the office of former Chairs by APNU supporters, breaking down doors, pushing past police officers and intimidating the Chair. No you can’t! The PPPC would have them murdered or imprisoned! THINK WADDELL, CRUM-EWING, MIN SASH SAWH AND MARK BENSCHOP!!!
Many people in this country are happily sowing the seeds of wrath and divisions that won’t soon heal. The foreigners who feign support of women’s rights are also silent. Guyanese women pay attention and take heed.
A man like jagdeo is power drunk he is not fit to lead a country why he has no fatherly love he hate black People, he teaches his followers to hate a man that have a wife is difficult to understand my prayers are with Mr Granger and the nation I pray for peace and pray that the Government would find work for the sugar work that are not working may God bless Guyana
