No citizen of Guyana should be asked to work under the abusive, abhorrent conditions which GECOM staff were subjected to over the past 48 hours. All of Guyana had a chance to see the upstanding elites of Bel Air behave like ravenous animals when they felt their villainous plans for the control of Guyana’s oil wealth were being thwarted.
The video evidence which the world viewed showed a systematic pattern of bullying and disrespect of the GECOM CEO. Keith Lowenfield was pushed up against the wall, the political elite had their gun men ‘security’ friends roaming the building, equipment was removed, systems were tampered and a clear pattern of systemic abuse was obvious to the world. Which reasonable person could expect GECOM to do their work under those circumstances?
The environment was toxic for GECOM staff and no reasonable person would disagree that they were left with no other choice but to declare in region 4. No employee in the world and certainly no employee in Guyana should be expected to work under those abusive circumstances.
Note that as this happened, not one word of criticism was uttered by Jason Carter and the rest of the international observers. The leaders of Guyana must work to safe guard our people and resources. These issues are not really important to the international community.
